Flagelante is an independent label I co-founded in 2020 with A Thousand Details and Teragon, emerging during the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown in Portugal.

What began as an underground event project quickly transformed into something more lasting—a platform for uncompromising sonic expression, born in isolation but fueled by urgency.

Rooted in industrial techno, dark ambient, post-punk, EBM, and experimental electronics, Flagelante operates at the intersection of chaos and control. The label curates artists from across the globe who explore the darker, more visceral edges of sound—artists like Filmmaker, Liebknecht, Drvg Cvltvre, Baroque, Kenny Campbell, and Hanging Freud, among others.

In addition to our releases, The Flagelante Podcast extends the label’s curatorial voice. Each episode showcases exclusive DJ sets and live recordings from both emerging and established artists within the underground scene. The podcast acts as a sonic archive and a space for experimentation—continuing the label’s mission of supporting unfiltered, outsider sound.

You can listen to the podcast on SoundCloud or subscribe through your preferred platform.

As a co-founder, I work across both creative and curatorial responsibilities:

  • Visual identity and artwork for every release
  • Art direction across digital platforms and physical formats
  • Design of promotional content, vinyl sleeves, and packaging
  • Curation, helping define the sonic and conceptual tone of the label
  • Podcast coordination, including guest selection and visual treatments

Flagelante’s visual language mirrors its sound—dense, ritualistic, emotionally raw. The artworks often incorporate distorted imagery, symbolic textures, and esoteric references, creating a unified experience where the audio and visuals reinforce one another.

Flagelante is not just a label—it’s a ritual, a reaction, and a collaborative response to isolation, resistance, and underground culture.
