The area in front of Palácio de Queluz (Queluz Palace), an iconic Portuguese national monument, had been completely taken over by motorized vehicles, be it through motorways or with illegal parking.
This proposal intends to restore part of the original barroque planning, adapting it to today’s urban needs. For that traffic is redirected, as to free the space and create a pedestrian plaza, recriating the geometric purity of the original plan and restructuring the spatial and urban design hierarchy.
