In 2016 the Porto City Hall started a public competition for the development of a new transportation hub in the city, with the plan to revitalize the eastern part of the city, which was underdeveloped when compared with the recent real estate boom the city had been under so far.
Campanhã is an area characterized by its walls and disperse urban development, apparently not structured. As such, this proposal works as a wall, with the purpose of being a limit for the existing railways and making a reference to the local urban language. Simultaneously this proposal defines a multitude of paths that structure the area for its future development.
This allows for the proposal to have a minimal impact in its environment, whilst restructuring the area and improving its infrastructure.
